My Orthodontic Experience

Dear Drs. Evans,

Until my new dentist (who replaced my retiring former dentist) suggested it, I never before considered the correction of my lifelong problems of a serious overbite and generally misaligned teeth as even being possible. I was very pleasantly surprised to learn upon my first visit to your office that you were confident that my age (62 at the time) would pose no significant problem. The process of correcting all of the problems was really not very inconvenient after I learned to live with all of the hardware in my mouth (thank heavens for orthodontic wax!). The end result was well worth all of the effort. Not only was the serious overbite corrected but also 1 ended up with a great smile set off by a near-perfect set of teeth. 1 am delighted with the result!

Our experiences with your offices have been extremely positive over the past five years. Your administrative assistant during our first visit gave us complete information as to what you expected during our ensuing visits and Dr. Charles provided a complete explanation as to the work needed to properly align the teeth. The financial advisor allowed us 100% flexibility to customize our payment plan. All visits including any emergency visits were prearranged and we never had to wait for the Doctors when we arrived. The reading materials and games provided in your lobby for entertainment is appreciated by us, the parents, while waiting for our child. The orthodontic assistants were always pleasant, praising our children for following instructions and encouraged them with "keep up the good work". Your follow-up appointments, to be sure their teeth do not shift back out of alignment, is a procedure other doctors may not provide. Our children always looked forward to the incentives you provided for completion of certain goals, signing the wall, T-shirts and the stuffed animal. Drs. When our sixteen-year-old son, Benjamin, needed orthodontic treatment at age 9, we consulted three orthodontists in Waukesha. We chose the offices of Drs. Charles and Evonne Evans because of their professionalism, friendliness, and caring. Last year our other son, Adam also began orthodontic treatment. When I began treatment with Dr. Evans, I was apprehensive as I am sure any 14 year old would be. While I dreaded my early appointments, I began to gain confidence with each experience. Dear Dr. Charles and Dr. Evonne Evans,

I'm taking the time to write this letter because my husband and I appreciate the excellent care that Andy received while under your care. Being a teacher of elementary school children, I know how difficult it can be to enlist the cooperation of the children you work with each day. Motivation and responsibility are extremely important. I admired the way you put the responsibility of the orthodontic treatment in the hands of the patient. I, too, believe that the children need to take ownership of their own learning just as you have the children take ownership of their own orthodontic treatment. We very rarely talked to Andy about following the treatment plan, yet he knew that consequences would follow should he choose not to follow directions. He also came to realize that the end result was for him. Another aspect of working with children is working with them in a positive manner. This was continually demonstrated with any employee that we dealt with throughout his orthodontic treatment. As a result, Andy responded well to suggestions. When children are given the freedom to make choices and responsibility is shown, the result is pride . There were times when he would slip as is probably typical with kids, but because it was handled professionally and in a kind way the response was successful. Another set back was when the dog chewed up Andy's retainer, but again this was another life-learning lesson when he was forced to use his savings to replace it. Thanks again for taking the extra time to speak to Andy about his responsibilities rather than to address just me (the parent). Little was left for me to say when he heard a mini-lecture at the office. He knew who had to make the changes. He'll be very proud of his smile in the future when he wants to start dating. Prior to seeking treatment at your office for TMJ, I experienced severe ear and jaw pain. There was nothing I could do to relieve the pain. I was not able to attend many social activities or sleep at night due to my discomfort. I felt very welcome at your office. All treatment options to correct TMJ were explained very clearly by your office personnel. Success rates for each particular option were also provided. This made my choice of choosing braces very easy to make. Though this particular diagnosis was not covered by my insurance plan, your office was very helpful in discussing payment plans with me. One is never too old for a healthy smile. At age 48, I began orthodontic treatment to alleviate headaches from TMJ. Also, my teeth were crooked and out of alignment and my jaw made a clicking sound when I chewed. I needed help! My son was already a patient and I liked the gentle and caring approach that Drs.
